LGBT Human Rights around the world.

Guests on Call is working with the Council for Global Equality in March to look at the State Department's recently released human rights report about abuses in countries around the world. The State Department has been mandated since 1993 to also report on sexual orientation- and gender identity-based human rights abuses, but the action on these abuses stops at the reporting of them. Many human rights champions are asking the government to take action through diplomacy and USAID to address these important issues in other countries around the world. They also call on the U.S. to build credibility on these issues by improving our record of support for LGBT rights here at home.
