Interference at the Environmental Protection Agency

The Union of Concerned Scientists recently released a groundbreaking report which finds that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scientists are experiencing widespread suppression and distortion of their findings.

Guests On Call will be featuring members of the Scientific Integrity Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists for interviews about the report, in which 1,600 EPA scientists responded to a survey adminstered by Iowa State University's Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology.

60% of EPA scientists experienced political interference in scientific decisions at the agency during the past five years. Nearly 2/3 of respondents have been at the EPA for more than 10 years.
