Is Iran the Next Iraq?

During the middle of October, Guests on Call will be looking at growing tensions between Iran and the U.S. The recent visit of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to New York sparked great debate among Americans. There has been offensive rhetoric tossed back and forth between the Iranian and the U.S. governments. What do the people of the U.S. and Iran think? How can we diffuse tensions and avoid further military action in the Middle East? Where is the common ground between Iranian culture and American culture?

We will be featuring religious leaders who have travelled to Iran to meet with Iranian religious leaders and officials. Our list includes policy experts on Iranian and U.S. relations as well as Iranian Americans who are facing growing negativity in the U.S. media. We will also be scheduling interviews for polling experts to discuss polling results on attitudes of Iranians and Americans on key international issues, as well as peace advocates who are leading delegations to Iran that seek to make personal ties stronger between Americans and Iranians.
