Supreme Court School Diversity Decisions

Yesterday the Supreme Court decided 5-4 that two school district voluntary diversity programs are unconstitutional. However, the Supreme Court also reaffirmed 5-4 that diversity in education and desegregation are still compelling government interests. In a landmark decision, Justice Kennedy outlined what kinds of programs and methods for encouraging inclusion and integration in our schools is constitutional.
