Endless War: Finding a solution in Iraq
While some say "stay the course" and others say "bring our troops home now", the debate is heating up about Iraq. General Petraeus' report on the status in Iraq calls for a slow withdrawal of troops back to pre-surge levels by mid-2008. With 9/11 approaching yet again, Guests on Call reflects on the Iraq war and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
Guests on Call is also tracking the Secure America Tour, a speaking tour of various U.S. policy experts who are discussing viable alternatives to the current U.S. model: unilateral action to combat terrorism. Click here for more information about the Secure America Tour dates, venues and speakers.
Guests on Call is also scheduling interviews for Charles Holdefer, author of a new book entitled The Contractor, which looks at the secret world of civilian contractors working in Iraq. It is estimated that the number of contractors has eclipsed the number of U.S. troops in Iraq. Contractors are not subject to the same legal restraints and congressional oversight of military personnel. The Contractor looks through the eyes of a fictional character named George at the underbelly of the war on terror. Click here to find out more about this riveting newly released novel.
